About Project Management Deliverables: Good IT project governance requires application and system documentation regardless of the project management framework (e.g., waterfall, Scrum Agile, Safe, hybrid). Application and system documentation, whether stored in an ALM, an Excel workbook, or a Word document are useful for design reviews, user signoffs, and maintenance. Often this document list is put in a deliverables checklist document to verify with stakeholders what document deliverables will be produced for the project. For almost all our projects we use SharePoint as the Project Asset Library.

Some organizations have a full asset library of IT document templates while others do not. This section provides a list of common project implementation deliverables to consider for your project. Specialize deliverables for software development may require unique deliverables based on the architecture of your coding.

Some documents in the list have templates. If you can’t find what you need here, (a) refer to the standards or practices for the applications and vendors you are using, (b) check ISO, PMI, ISACA, or IIBA websites for standard templates, or (c) do an Internet search. These templates are only skeletons documents with suggested content for you to modify as needed. Check back often since we adding and updating templates on a regular basis.
